Tell us about your yourself?
Well, I’m Ashish Sinha, a B.Tech. Metallurgical and Materials student at IIT Roorkee. I usually invest my time into coding or reading random shit but occasionally I play billiards, video games or watch movies. I sometimes do sketching and paintin.
Alright. So what is this blog going to be about?
Ah well, this is mostly going to be a programming and life blog. Specifically, about the projects that I am currently working on. Although, from time to time, I will talk about my experiences.
How has life been after JEE?
Two years of rubbing my ass off and I finally find myself at IIT Roorkee. This has not always been my first choice, I had hoped for IIT KGP, but after coming to Roorkee, I had no regrets though I get homesick sometimes. I was academically good but JEE had killed my creativity all these years. I was a bit shy and introvert kind of person, but after coming to Roorkee, I decided to change myself and try all sorts of things. I appeared for almost all groups and clubs interviews, got selected in some whereas got rejected in the final rounds of some, but it was a good learning experience. I overcame my crowd and stage fear a bit by appearing for the recruitments of the Dramatics Section. I developed an interest in coding and learnt some technologies that were completely new to me like Python, HTML/CSS, MySQL, C++, Ruby, R, Git ,etc.

I am a avid Quizzer and have founded QuiZense- Your Sixth Sense along my friends in school. I tried competitive programming for some time in my first semester but realized that it was not my cup of tea. I’ve always had interest in creating webpages so I started with Web Development. A few months back, after attending a talk by the Data Science Group, IITR, I developed an interest in Machine Learning and am continuing with it.

Enough about coding. What else?
I was a member of WatchOut! News Agency, a group where people meet up on a Monday night and discuss crazy ideas. I was a member of Unnat Bharat Memeber, Chandpur village, a MHRD initiative working for the betterment of the village. I am also a active member of the Quizzing Section.
Apart from campus groups, I occasionally play Snooker, table tennis and badminton. I used to sketch and paint. Also, I’m a TV Show fanatic.(BB <3)
